Layarhijau – Chinese actor and singer Liu Yuning is going all out to prepare for his latest role in the upcoming drama Evidence. Affectionately known by fans as Ning Ge, he is taking his physical preparation seriously, focusing on building muscle and staying in peak shape to perfectly embody his character.
He shared this dedication while attending the “Ordinary Days Borrow a Little Light” song-sharing event hosted by Kugou Music in Shanghai on the evening of June 28.

Inspired by Fellow Actors
During the interview, Liu Yuning candidly admitted that he has often struggled to stick to a workout routine in the past. However, for Evidence, he is determined to completely transform his physique.
“I always say I want to hit the gym, but I could never stay consistent before. This time, I’m dead serious,” Liu Yuning said.
His motivation grew even stronger after seeing photos of other male actors’ athletic builds. “To this day, I don’t have a single photo of my physique that I can proudly show off. So I really need to step up my game!” he joked.
Busy Filming Alongside Sun Honglei
Liu Yuning also revealed that he is currently deep into filming Evidence, starring alongside veteran heavyweight actor Sun Honglei. Once he wraps up his schedule at the Oriental Wind Chart awards, he will immediately head back to the set to continue shooting.
His commitment to this physical transformation highlights his strong dedication to acting, as he aims to deliver a highly convincing and top-notch performance in his new role.
Passing on Modern Rom-Coms for Now
When asked if he would take on modern romantic dramas in the future, Liu Yuning felt he had already had his fill of those tropes through his variety show appearances.
“I don’t think I need to. I’ve already played the sweet, clingy guy and the domineering CEO on variety shows, so that’s enough for me,” he laughed.
He added that he is still exploring what kind of roles he wants to tackle next. “There’s no rush. Everyone will eventually get to see a completely different side of Ning Ge,” he concluded.
For now, Liu Yuning is prioritizing his acting career, focusing on wrapping up his current drama projects before releasing a new album and embarking on his third concert tour.
