LayarHijau – China’s drama market saw another highly competitive week as Kuyun Digital Entertainment released its Week 26 rankings for the most popular dramas and characters of 2026. Modern, medical, fantasy, and costume dramas all delivered strong performances across multiple platforms.
Modern romance drama Love Has Fireworks, starring Tan Jianci and Wang Churan, topped Kuyun’s weekly cross-platform viewership rankings with 244 million views. Since its premiere, the series has maintained strong momentum, claiming the No. 1 spot on the daily cross-platform chart four times. It also ranked third on the weekly video-on-demand (VOD) chart with 158 million views.
The medical drama The Heart 2, starring Mark Chao and Mao Xiaotong, followed in second place with 235 million cross-platform views for the week. Since its debut, the series has consistently remained among the top three on the daily rankings, reflecting its strong and loyal audience base.
Meanwhile, costume drama The First Jasmine (莫离), starring Bai Lu and Cheng Lei, ranked third with 211 million cross-platform views during Week 26. The drama performed even better in the VOD category, where it recorded 189 million views to secure second place on the weekly chart.
The series has also reached another major milestone. During its run, The First Jasmine has surpassed 500 million cumulative cross-platform views, underscoring its staying power despite growing competition from newly released dramas.
On the VOD chart, fantasy drama Archives: The Nanyang Mystery, starring Zhang Xincheng and Ding Yuxi, claimed the No. 1 spot with 196 million cross-platform views for the week. After finishing second on the VOD chart the previous week, the series quickly climbed to the top and has frequently appeared in the daily cross-platform top three since its premiere.
Kuyun also released its Week 26 character popularity rankings, with costume drama characters continuing to dominate the chart. Ye Li, portrayed by Bai Lu in The First Jasmine, earned a popularity score of 17,528, holding onto the No. 1 position for the third consecutive week.
Li Yifei, played by Tan Jianci in Love Has Fireworks, ranked second with a popularity score of 17,426.
Rounding out the top three was Jiang Lifei from The Eternal Fragrance, portrayed by Ju Jingyi, with a popularity score of 17,239. In the drama, Ju Jingyi plays both Jiang Lifei and Xiao Bangchui, with her dual performance becoming one of the series’ biggest talking points among viewers.
