On May 29, 2026, Li Chen reposted the drama’s official scheduling announcement on Weibo. He wrote, “June 9, let’s watch Ye Li together,” while tagging Bai Lu and the official drama account. Bai Lu responded shortly in the comments, saying, “Thank you, Brother Chen.”
The exchange quickly gained traction online, coming after weeks of speculation suggesting a strained relationship between Li Chen and Bai Lu following Keep Running Season 14. Several clips from the variety show previously circulated widely, including a relay game moment in which Bai Lu splashed water on Li Chen at sea, as well as a joking remark referring to Li Chen and Zheng Kai as “old men.”
Those clips were widely shared and discussed across social media, fueling speculation about possible tension within the cast. The discussion intensified further when Li Chen and Zheng Kai did not share promotional posts for recent episodes of the show as they usually do.
However, the recent interaction between Li Chen and Bai Lu has led many viewers to reconsider those assumptions. Behind-the-scenes photos from Keep Running also surfaced, showing Li Chen, Bai Lu, and Zheng Kai together in a relaxed setting inside a car, suggesting the rumored conflict may have been overstated.
Li Chen was also the first member of Running Man China to publicly promote Bai Lu’s new drama, further easing speculation about distance between them.
The First Jasmine is the international title of the costume drama previously known as Mo Li (莫离), starring Bai Lu and Cheng Lei. The series centers on a politically arranged marriage in a royal court that gradually develops into romance between the two leads.
The First Jasmine is scheduled to premiere on June 9, 2026, on Tencent Video and WeTV.
