LayarHijau – Zhang Linghe once again stole the spotlight with his appearance on the variety show The Truth Season 4. The actor, who gained popularity through dramas such as The Best Thing, Story of Kunning Palace, and The Princess Royal, showed off his comedic timing while acting alongside Wang Yuwen as a wealthy married couple.
In the episode themed “War of the Heirs,” Zhang Linghe played He Jiahuan, the heir to a powerful tech company, while Wang Yuwen portrayed his wife, An Xiaowen. Their exaggerated “rich couple” performance quickly became one of the funniest moments of the show.

The hilarious skit began when Wang Yuwen’s character complained after getting bitten by a mosquito. Zhang Linghe instantly switched into overprotective CEO mode, grabbing his “wife’s” hand and asking dramatically, “How did you get a bump? Who hurt you?”
After learning that it was caused by a mosquito bite, he immediately shouted for the butler, “Check every surveillance camera in this area right now! I want to know which mosquito dared to hurt my wife!”
The situation became even funnier when the butler calmly replied that the mosquito had already flown away. Zhang Linghe then dramatically responded, “Then find out where it came from! Was it from the garden outside? The weather is getting cold. It’s time for that landscaping company to go bankrupt!”
The scene reached its peak when he gazed at Wang Yuwen affectionately and declared, “For every bump that appears on your body, one mosquito in this world must die!”
His dead-serious delivery of such an over-the-top line left both the cast and viewers in stitches. Many netizens praised Zhang Linghe for managing not to laugh during the entire performance.
Aside from the “rich couple” skit, Zhang Linghe also drew attention during his interaction with comedian Jin Jing. The moment began when Jin Jing noticed a plate of dried orange peel candy on the table and immediately recalled the famous kiss scene from Pursuit of Jade.
In Chinese culture, chenpi candy is made from dried mandarin orange peel and is known for its sweet taste and distinctive citrus aroma. The candy became memorable because it was featured in one of Pursuit of Jade’s most talked-about romantic scenes.
Jin Jing then teased Zhang Linghe by saying the moment looked strangely familiar. Before she could finish speaking, Zhang Linghe smoothly continued with a line instantly recognizable to Pursuit of Jade fans: “Want to try this orange peel candy?”
The line immediately made Jin Jing burst into laughter. In Pursuit of Jade, Zhang Linghe said a similar line to Tian Xiwei right before their characters shared their first kiss. The spontaneous interaction quickly became another hot topic among Chinese netizens.
