LayarHijau – Chinese actress Tan Songyun has revealed a serious injury she suffered while filming, a painful experience she had never publicly explained until now. She shared the story during her appearance on the reality show Dear Inn 2026, immediately drawing widespread attention from viewers.

During the show, Shen Yue noticed a visible scar on the upper part of Tan Songyun’s lip and asked about it. Tan Songyun then explained that the injury happened while she was filming. She described the condition as severe, saying that a large part of the tissue on her lip had nearly torn off.

She received immediate treatment from a surgeon, who warned that if the tissue had completely detached, it would have required a major operation. Fortunately, some of the tissue was still connected, allowing doctors to stitch it back together. Even so, the aftermath was difficult. Her lip became extremely swollen the next day, forcing her to stay in her hotel room and avoid seeing anyone.

Tan Songyun described it as one of the most serious injuries she has ever experienced. During recovery, she could barely open her mouth, making it difficult to eat or speak. She was even afraid to call her father and could only ask her sister to pass along the message about her condition.

Her revelation also sheds light on past rumors during the filming of As Beautiful as You (你比星光美丽), where she starred alongside Xu Kai. At the time, she was rumored to have left the set due to dissatisfaction over billing. However, many fans now believe her absence was actually due to the injury, not any conflict.

Some netizens also speculated that the injury occurred when Tan Songyun took a break from filming the drama to complete the film So Long for Love (再见,李可乐). Notably, the entire production team was said to have kept her condition confidential at the time.

Instead of clarifying the situation back then, Tan Songyun chose to remain silent and let the speculation continue. Now, as she finally addressed the incident, she simply said, “It’s all in the past. I don’t really think about it anymore.”

Her calm response has only deepened fans’ sympathy, with many praising her for staying low-key despite being misunderstood.

After wrapping up the drama Against the Current (兰香如故) in October last year, Tan Songyun has not returned to filming a new drama and has instead focused on variety shows to maintain her visibility. She has been on a break from drama productions for about six months.

She is now rumored to make her comeback in the upcoming historical comedy Hou Mansion (侯门有喜), where she will star alongside Yang Xuwen, known for Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty (唐朝诡事录). The project is expected to begin filming in the second half of the year and has already attracted significant attention.

Meanwhile, her previous project My Destiny (我的山与海) also drew attention, although its performance was not as strong as some other dramas released during the same period.

Tan Songyun’s return to acting is highly anticipated, especially after she finally opened up about the injury she had quietly endured.
