LayarHijau – The official fan club of Yang Zi has come under intense scrutiny after a series of controversies over three days triggered widespread backlash among fans. What began as a questionable account activity escalated into cross-fandom conflict and broader concerns, including alleged financial transparency issues, ultimately leading to the group’s disbandment and planned restructuring.

The issue first surfaced on April 14, 2026, when netizens discovered that the fan club’s official account on Weibo had liked a post containing negative content about Yang Zi herself. The discovery quickly went viral, sparking outrage among fans who viewed it as a serious failure from an organization meant to protect the artist’s reputation.

In the early hours of April 15, the fan club issued an apology, explaining that the “like” was caused by a staff member accidentally tapping the button while trying to block harmful content. They described it as a misclick and stated that individuals responsible for inappropriate posts from related accounts had been removed. They also promised stricter account management moving forward.

However, the apology failed to calm the situation. Many fans criticized the explanation as superficial and began calling for the fan club to be dissolved and rebuilt.

Later on April 15, after the apology was released, netizens uncovered additional activity from the fan club’s account. It was found to have followed the supertopic of Dilraba Dilmurat, which quickly drew attention and further expanded the controversy.

The situation escalated further when a post made by the fan club using a related hashtag came to light. In that post, the account wrote: “Are you even worthy of being followed?”

The remark immediately angered Dilraba’s fans, who demanded a public apology. At the same time, some netizens accused the fan club of attempting to deflect attention from the original “like” controversy by dragging an unrelated artist into the situation.

On April 16, 2026, the official fan club announced the collective resignation of its entire team and confirmed it would disband and undergo restructuring. In its statement, the group said, “We sincerely thank fans for their support and understanding. We apologize to Yang Zi and all fans for not doing better, and we wish both Yang Zi and the fan community continued growth in the future.”

They also acknowledged internal shortcomings, stating, “We are deeply aware that as a bridge between Yang Zi and her fans, we should have done better. Unfortunately, we did not meet expectations.”

The fan club emphasized that the decision to disband was not an attempt to abandon responsibility, but rather a step toward rebuilding a more professional and efficient team.

Amid the controversy, discussions also expanded to potential financial transparency issues within fan club operations. Following the disbandment announcement, Chinese media sought legal insight from Shanghai-based entertainment lawyer Li Zhenwu.

He explained, “When fans contribute money to a fan club for support activities, the relationship is generally considered a civil legal relationship.” He added, “Fan clubs are obligated to disclose how funds are used, including detailed income and expenditure records.”

He further noted, “If funds are misused or financial records are unclear, it may constitute a breach of obligation, and fans have the right to seek compensation.” He also warned that “mismanagement, especially involving finances, carries significant legal risks.”

As of now, Yang Zi’s studio has not responded to the growing demands from fans. Meanwhile, discussions continue across social media, with attention focused on whether the planned restructuring can restore the trust that has been severely shaken.
