LayarHijau.com – Yang Yang is once again drawing public attention through his latest historical drama project, Bu Rang Jiang Shan (不让江山). After achieving major success with The Immortal Ascension (凡人修仙传), where he starred alongside Jin Chen, Yang Yang is now set to portray a character with a remarkable transformation—from a commoner to a general, and ultimately rising to the throne as the founding emperor of a dynasty. The drama promises an epic narrative filled with ambition and battlefield struggles, marking what many see as his return to peak form after facing sharp criticism in Fireworks of My Heart (我的人间烟火).
The production itself has not been without challenges, raising concerns among fans. Reports previously mentioned major script revisions, and Yang Yang was said to have suffered a fractured arm during filming. Despite the injury, he reportedly continued working to keep the production on schedule. “Yang Yang’s dedication to continue filming despite a serious injury shows an exceptional level of professionalism,” a source from the set revealed, sparking both concern and admiration among fans.

Recently, leaked images showcasing five different costume sets from the early phase of his character have circulated widely online, earning widespread praise. One of the most eye-catching looks features a blue-gray robe paired with a teal scarf wrapped around his neck. With his hair neatly tied up, Yang Yang exudes a youthful and energetic aura, reflecting his character’s identity as an ordinary man before embarking on his journey toward power in Bu Rang Jiang Shan.
Another standout appearance includes a dark gray robe with a minimalist yet refined design. Beneath it, he wears a teal inner garment, while his hair is styled high and secured with a golden crown, projecting the presence of a resilient nobleman. There is also a black outfit that appears simple from a distance but reveals intricate embroidery upon closer inspection. A red inner collar adds a striking contrast, sharpening his image as a strong and enigmatic figure.
His elegance is further highlighted through two white ensembles that have captured significant attention. One features a simple white robe with rolled-up sleeves, creating a relaxed and bright impression. The other is far more elaborate, adorned with intricate lace details and topped with a prominent white jade crown. Together, these looks perfectly illustrate the character’s transition from simplicity to the grandeur of a ruler destined to reshape history.
Meanwhile, Zhou Jieqiong, known for her role in Rebirth (冰湖重生), also impresses as the female lead. She appears in a white dress with purple accents, presenting a fresh, elegant, and graceful image. Her pairing with Yang Yang is expected to deliver strong on-screen chemistry, enriching the story of a man’s rise to power amid political intrigue and relentless challenges.
