LayarHijau – Chinese drama The Early Spring (早春晴朗) has reached its finale, but Jing Boran and Sun Qian still had a surprise for fans. The two reunited for a special fan interaction event on Weibo and appeared in character as Luan Nian and Shang Zhi Tao, making fans feel as though they had received an extra episode after the drama came to an end.
On September 11, from noon to 1 p.m. China time, Jing Boran and Sun Qian appeared in the The Early Spring fan community on Weibo for a special event titled Heartwarming Sunny News Bureau. The one-hour event allowed the two actors to interact directly with fans through the comment section.

This was more than an ordinary fan interaction session. Throughout the event, Jing Boran and Sun Qian responded from the perspective of Luan Nian and Shang Zhi Tao, using the characters’ distinctive ways of speaking as if the couple had returned to interact with fans after their story had ended.
Their exchanges immediately brought fans back into the world of The Early Spring. Some fans even joked that the event felt like getting a 37th episode or an extra episode of the drama for free.
Jing Boran Brings Back Luan Nian’s Dominant Attitude
One of the most talked-about moments came when a fan tagged Sun Qian and admitted that finishing The Early Spring left her feeling as though she had just gone through a breakup. She then asked to be comforted.
Jing Boran, however, was quick to answer the comment in Luan Nian’s signature style.
“How should I comfort you for it to count as comforting?” Jing Boran wrote.
The brief response immediately reminded fans of Luan Nian’s firm, dominant and sharp-tongued personality.
Jing Boran made fans laugh again when another fan asked Shang Zhi Tao to be more decisive and reject Luke’s attempt to get back together with her.
Responding as Luan Nian, he immediately fired back:
“I’m still here! You can write your resignation letter now!!!”
The exchange brought the chemistry between Luan Nian and Shang Zhi Tao back to life, even though the main story of The Early Spring had already concluded.
Sun Qian Calls Luan Nian in a Sweet Voice
Sun Qian also delivered a moment that made it even harder for fans to move on from The Early Spring’s main couple.
At fans’ request, Sun Qian recorded a voice message in a soft, sweet tone while calling out “Luan Nian.”
Jing Boran immediately responded, “Don’t tease me.”
The brief exchange sent the comment section into another frenzy. Many fans felt that Jing Boran and Sun Qian’s chemistry was so natural that the session felt more like a continuation of the story than a post-finale promotional event.
Some fans even described it as an extra episode of The Early Spring.
“This isn’t a post-finale bonus. This is an extra episode!” one fan wrote.
Others joked that they had essentially been given the chance to watch one more episode for free.
Jing Boran Admits He’s “Already Out of Energy”
During the interaction session, Jing Boran also received a request from a fan asking him to take on more modern romance dramas.
The fan wrote that she hoped Jing Boran would appear in more modern dramas because the genre felt incomplete without him.
Jing Boran responded with a short answer that made fans laugh.
“I’m already out of energy,” he replied.
The candid response quickly became another talking point on Weibo.
According to Chinese media reports, topics related to the Heartwarming Sunny News Bureau event surpassed 50 million views and generated more than 300,000 interactions in a short period. The event consequently became one of the most widely discussed entertainment topics of the day.
The Drama’s Ending Differs From the Novel’s Continuation
The Early Spring is adapted from a popular novel of the same name and follows the long and complicated relationship between Luan Nian and Shang Zhi Tao, including their separation, conflicts and eventual journey back to each other.
In the drama’s ending, Luan Nian proposes to Shang Zhi Tao at the Space-Time Museum. The proposal serves as the conclusion of the couple’s main storyline on screen.
The story continues further in the novel. Luan Nian and Shang Zhi Tao eventually get married and have a daughter named Luan Nian Tao.
After The Early Spring officially concluded, Jing Boran and Sun Qian’s reunion as Luan Nian and Shang Zhi Tao during the September 11 Weibo fan interaction became an additional gift for fans. By bringing the characters back through their playful exchanges, the two actors made viewers feel as though they had received one more episode after the drama’s finale.
