It was revealed that Zhang Linghe was admitted to Nanjing Normal University in 2016, majoring in Electrical Engineering. During his college years, he was active in campus organizations and worked as an editor at the student union’s news center. He also contributed to the university’s official account, where he once shared a personal story that has recently resurfaced online.
In that piece, Zhang Linghe opened up about an unrequited love that ultimately did not work out. The story has drawn widespread attention from netizens, as it reveals a more emotional and vulnerable side of the actor that many had not seen before.
He wrote, “It took me a long time to realize that she was never a flower that belonged to me—I just happened to witness her in full bloom… Later, I selfishly chose to leave without much reason. It was simply the gap between reality and idealism that made me suddenly realize how complex life truly is. I was still a mess myself, not worthy of loving someone else.”
His words quickly sparked reactions online. Many were deeply moved, while others were surprised to learn that someone like Zhang Linghe had also experienced unrequited love.
This past story has only added to Zhang Linghe’s appeal, especially as Pursuit of Jade continues to air and capture the audience’s attention.
