LayarHijau – The cast of Live Up to Your Youth (冬去春来) gathered in Beijing on March 25 for a promotional event supporting their ongoing series. Bai Yu, Zhang Ruonan, Lin Yun, and Wang Yanlin all appeared in person, drawing attention with their presence and chemistry.

Each star stood out with their styling that day. Bai Yu opted for a clean and refreshing casual look, while Zhang Ruonan appeared sweet in a pink outfit. Lin Yun, meanwhile, wore a striking red-and-blue ensemble that gave off a strong retro vibe.

The atmosphere turned lively during the interactive game session, where the cast engaged closely with fans. Bai Yu made a heart gesture, only to be playfully teased for looking more like he was “cold.” At the same time, Zhang Ruonan and Lin Yun showed their close bond on stage. When the host asked if they would “tear” a piece of paper as part of a game—losing if it broke—Zhang Ruonan immediately responded, “We won’t tear it.”

During the Q&A session, Bai Yu shared his experience playing Xu Shengli and addressed how this role marks a shift from his previous, often more tragic characters.

“He has received a lot of love in his life, so when he goes out into the world on his own, he also spreads that love to others. It becomes a kind of positive cycle, and it makes his whole being feel warm,” he said.

Through Xu Shengli, Bai Yu presents a warmer and more optimistic character, offering a noticeable change from the emotionally heavy roles he has portrayed in the past.

The drama is set in Beijing during the 1990s and follows a group of young people from different regions who arrive in the city carrying their own dreams. They live in a modest guesthouse that becomes a meeting point for people from diverse backgrounds. There, they navigate life as migrants, face the harsh realities of the big city, and experience the ups and downs of pursuing their ambitions while growing through a period of social change leading into a new era.
