LayarHijau – The Chinese idol drama The First Frost (难哄), starring Zhang Ruonan and Bai Jingting, was a huge hit when it aired last year and became one of the most popular dramas across Asia. The series’ success also drew attention to the actors’ off-screen interactions.
As a “sister” series to Hidden Love (偷偷藏不住), starring Zhao Lusi and Chen Zheyuan, The First Frost recorded around 1.7 billion views. Their on-screen chemistry captivated audiences, while off-screen, the pair were occasionally rumored to be close, though nothing was ever officially confirmed.
In several public appearances, their interactions attracted attention because they seemed to deliberately maintain distance. They often attended the same major events but avoided direct engagement on camera. Combined with sightings of similar accessories, like rings and necklaces, these details fueled speculation among fans.

Now, Zhang Ruonan returns in the new period drama Live Up to Your Youth (冬去春来), also starring Bai Yu, Jelly Lin, and Wang Yanlin. The series officially premieres today, March 22, 2026, and immediately goes head-to-head with the historical drama Pursuit of Jade (逐玉) and the life-story drama My Destiny (我的山与海). (reddit.com)
Ahead of the premiere, Bai Jingting openly showed his support. Through his studio, he purchased 500 VIP cloud screening slots specifically for Zhang Ruonan, followed by an additional 1,000 slots for the Live Up to Your Youth production team. Some fans even added 20 extra slots, bringing the total to 520—a number culturally associated in China with the phrase “I love you.”

Previously, Zhang Ruonan had also shown support for Bai Jingting’s projects. When Mobius (不眠日) aired on September 17, 2025, her studio purchased 500 cloud screening slots to help boost the drama’s visibility.
With Bai Jingting openly supporting Zhang Ruonan’s latest project, along with her earlier support for Mobius, their interactions have once again drawn public attention and become a hot topic among fans.
