LayarHijau – Jing Boran has been busy promoting his new drama, The Early Spring (《早春晴朗》), but it was his close friend Bai Jingting who ended up stealing the spotlight after “calling him out” over a promise he made during the promotional campaign.
During an online press conference for The Early Spring, Jing Boran jokingly said that he would give away some of his own clothes and even a house if the drama’s popularity reached 10,000. The remark was meant as a playful way to drum up attention for the new series.

Bai Jingting, however, wasn’t about to let that promise slide. He made a collage featuring photos of Jing Boran as he was making the promise, then reposted it and tagged Jing Boran. He also wrote, “Thank you,” as though he had already claimed the clothes and house.
Jing Boran immediately played along in the comments. “Haven’t you already taken a set? You still want more?” he replied.
Bai Jingting then fired back with a line from Jing Boran’s character in The Early Spring: “That’s still not enough for me.”
Their back-and-forth quickly turned the drama’s promotional campaign into an impromptu “debt-collection session” between two longtime friends. Fans and netizens were amused by the exchange, with some joking that the pair’s banter was more entertaining than the actual drama promotion.
Jing Boran and Bai Jingting’s Nearly 10-Year Friendship
Behind the playful exchange is a friendship that has lasted for nearly a decade.
Jing Boran and Bai Jingting first met in 2016 when they appeared together as cast members on the variety show Fighting Man (《我们战斗吧》). Their friendship grew over the years, and the two have frequently shown how close they are both on and off camera.
Both actors stand at 183 cm tall, and their shared interest in fashion eventually earned them the nickname “183 Duo” (183组合) among fans.
Their friendship has even extended to their wardrobes. Bai Jingting once revealed that before meeting Jing Boran, he could spend an entire week thinking about what to wear because he did not want to be outdone by his friend in the fashion department.
Jing Boran’s clothes have also reportedly become fair game for Bai Jingting, who has a habit of “taking” pieces from his friend’s wardrobe. So when Jing Boran joked about giving away his clothes, Bai Jingting’s decision to immediately “claim” the offer was very much in character.
Their latest exchange once again highlighted the easygoing friendship between the two actors while giving The Early Spring an extra boost of attention during its promotional run.
