LayarHijau – A scene from the Chinese short drama Back Before My Child Was Swapped, The Marquis Household’s Matriarch Wins It All (重回被换子之前,侯府主母赢麻了) has sparked widespread backlash online. A clip from episode 28 appears to show a male actor allegedly touching his co-star’s chest during a kidnapping scene, leading viewers to question whether the contact was accidental or crossed professional boundaries.

The drama tells the story of Yi Zhiyu, a woman who is given a second chance at life after her daughter was switched at birth by her sister-in-law in her previous life, ultimately resulting in the downfall of her family. After returning to the day she gave birth, she teams up with her husband to seek revenge, expose their enemies’ hypocrisy, and reclaim their noble family’s status and wealth.

Yi Zhiyu is portrayed by Meng Lu, while Shen Yunzhou is played by Wang Chaoyang. With its rebirth-and-revenge storyline, the short drama gained notable popularity and ranked among the top five in the rebirth-themed category on streaming platforms.

The controversy stems from a kidnapping scene in episode 28. In the circulating clip, the male character is seen covering the female character’s mouth from behind while attempting to drag her away as she struggles. However, viewers noticed that the actor’s hand appeared to be placed on his co-star’s chest during the sequence. A visible side-to-side movement further fueled online debate, with some netizens arguing that the motion did not seem necessary for the scene.

The clip quickly spread across social media, drawing sharp criticism. Many commenters said the moment appeared inappropriate and questioned on-set supervision and professionalism. Others expressed sympathy for the actress and called on the production team to clarify what happened during filming.

Mainstream outlet Cover News also addressed the issue, emphasizing that the fast-paced production style of short dramas should not come at the expense of professional ethics. The report stressed that creative teams must continue to uphold proper standards and respect for performers.

As of now, the production team has not released an official statement regarding the allegations. However, the controversial scene has reportedly been removed and replaced with a shortened version that shows only a brief glimpse of the kidnapping without the disputed detail.

Public discussion remains ongoing as viewers await further clarification about the context behind the scene.
