LayarHijau — The proven pairing of Bai Lu and Wang Xingyue once again captivated the public, taking the spotlight during the promotional event for their latest historical mystery series, Unveil: Jadewind (唐宫奇案之青雾风鸣). Their live interaction and reenactment of iconic scenes confirmed why their chemistry remains unmatched.
The Weibo Fan Meeting, held on February 7th, just two days after the official premiere of Unveil: Jadewind (February 5th), was a significant event. Adapted from Senlin Lu’s novel Tang Gong Qi An Zhi Xue Yu She, the drama follows Li Peiyi (Bai Lu), an officer from the Internal Affairs Bureau, and her partner, Xiao Huaijin (Wang Xingyue), the Deputy Chief of Astronomy. They must join forces to uncover the intricate mystery behind the death of Princess Ningyuan.

As a duo who have collaborated four times, Bai Lu and Wang Xingyue displayed outstanding synergy. On stage, they reenacted the highly anticipated ‘blindfold’ scene. The moment Wang Xingyue removed his glasses instantly went viral, labeled by fans as the “highest standard of the gentle, reserved scholar sensation.”
Beyond acting, the main pairing surprised the audience by singing the drama’s OST, ‘Xingluo Huohuo,’ a cappella. Bai Lu’s vocal ability, particularly her nuanced transition techniques, genuinely captivated all attendees.
The peak of the event occurred when Bai Lu demonstrated her title as the “hand-gesture dance genius.” She led popular dance moves such as “Mi Gao Yao” and “Kuku Yao.” After only watching the moves twice, Bai Lu danced with impressive precision, blending agility, charm, and a ‘badass’ aura. This spontaneous act solidified Bai Lu’s status as the “Queen of Drama Promotion.” In contrast, Wang Xingyue, who attempted to follow the dance in a ‘copying homework’ style, added a delightful element of humor.
The series also features strong support from Yao Anna, who plays a female physician challenging the gender monopoly in ancient medical practices. Her character is a vital key in assisting Li Peiyi and Xiao Huaijin in solving complex cases.
Initial data suggests Unveil: Jadewind is performing stably. Yunhe data noted that the effective rerun market share reached 4.8% on the first day, ranking 7th among concurrently airing series. On the broadcast platform, the popularity score jumped from 7460 on the first day to 8093 the following day, indicating promising growth.
