LayarHijau — Chinese streaming platform iQIYI has launched an AI-powered film studio at its Creative Center in Shanghai. The studio is already in use for Cop in Trouble, an online-only feature film (internet feature film) that is its first project. The company announced the news on Oct. 28, according to China Daily.
The studio covers about 1,184 square feet (roughly 110 square meters) and pairs live-action filming with AI-driven post-production. It offers multi-camera shooting, synchronized high-resolution video and sound recording, digital continuity tracking, and real-time review of footage.

Footage shot on set is automatically sent to NadouPro, iQIYI’s AI production platform. There, filmmakers can use nearly 30 AI models and hundreds of AI agents built for production work to create new visual elements once filming wraps.
iQIYI says the system gives directors more freedom to modify sets, lighting, costumes, makeup, and props while leaving the actors’ original performances intact. That, the company says, eases scheduling constraints and boosts efficiency. Zhu Liang, iQIYI’s vice president and head of intelligent production, said the approach keeps acting as “the core of any film or series” while giving filmmakers more room to be creative.
Cop in Trouble centers on a low-ranking constable whose web of lies starts to unravel as he tries to bring down a notorious criminal. During production, the actors’ interactions on set are recorded, from close conversations to choreographed action scenes. That footage then serves as a reference for AI-generated environments and visual details, including character appearance, framing, lighting, and spatial relationships.
The studio extends iQIYI’s production capabilities from location and green-screen shooting to virtual production and AI-assisted filmmaking. It follows the company’s virtual studio in Hengdian, a film studio hub in China’s Zhejiang Province, which iQIYI says improved production efficiency by more than 30 percent. iQIYI is positioning the new facility as a resource for up-and-coming directors and small teams, especially those looking to bring imaginative worlds to life across genres.
