Yan An Puts Ring on Tian Xiwei’s Ring Finger at Where the Mask Ends Celebration Party

LayarHijau — Actor Yan An put a ring on Tian Xiwei’s ring finger at a celebration party for the wrap-up of the costume drama Where the Mask Ends (嫁金钗) on November 7, 2026. The event, held as an offline fan meeting, was titled “Closing Ceremony · Return Visit Banquet” (收官礼·回门宴). The moment was widely discussed on Weibo under the hashtag “Yan An puts ring on Tian Xiwei’s ring finger.” The “return visit banquet” refers to the feast a newlywed couple attends when visiting the bride’s parents’ home in Chinese tradition.

At the event, the host asked, following a line from the drama, whether Wei Rao was willing to marry Lu Zhuo. Wei Rao and Lu Zhuo are the characters played by Tian Xiwei and Yan An. Tian Xiwei answered playfully, “I think he’s done really well lately, so I’m willing.”

Yan An jumped in right away. He exclaimed excitedly, “I’m willing too, I’m willing too, I’m willing too!” Moments later, he joked that he had changed his answer to “I’m not willing,” and said he was feeling “dizzy,” drawing laughter from the whole venue.

The ring placed on Tian Xiwei’s ring finger added to the buzz. Fans revealed that the ring was “borrowed on the spot,” giving the playful proposal scene a funny, unexpected twist.

The celebration party came after the drama racked up a series of achievements. On Netflix, Where the Mask Ends ranked fourth on the weekly global non-English TV list for October 19-25, 2026, with 3.8 million views and 59.3 million viewing hours, according to data cited by Chinese media. That figure reportedly surpassed the previous weekly record for a Mandarin-language drama, the 3.2 million views set by The Early Spring. The drama made the top 10 in 35 countries and regions and ranked first in four of them, including Singapore and Thailand. In its first week (October 12-18), it ranked seventh.

In China, the drama has aired since October 16 on CCTV-8 and the streaming platform Youku. According to data in circulation, Youku’s popularity index passed 10,000 within 48 hours and 17 minutes of the premiere, reportedly the fastest such achievement on Youku in 2026. Its market share of main-episode viewing, according to Yunhe Data, a Chinese streaming data tracker, was reported to have briefly reached 30%. Meanwhile, its CCTV-8 broadcast rating was reportedly above 1.

On Douban, a popular Chinese review site for films and dramas, the drama holds a score of 7.0. Some viewers on Weibo said Tian Xiwei’s shift from an orphaned girl to a noble family’s fake daughter was done successfully, while others felt the antagonist Jun Dai was overplayed, and fans of the original novel were unhappy with the adaptation of the real-versus-fake daughter storyline.
