LayarHijau – Meng Ziyi is once again in the spotlight after behind-the-scenes videos and photos from the set of her upcoming costume drama Tigers Sniff the Rose spread widely across social media. The project marks her third collaboration with Li Yunrui following their breakout success in Blossom. Their previous on-screen chemistry was so strong that paparazzi recently claimed the two were “living together,” alleging they were seen entering and leaving the same apartment building for four consecutive days. Although both studios issued quick denials, the synchronized statements only fueled speculation further.
Amid the ongoing rumors, the addition of Daddi Tang—who recently gained attention through Love’s Ambition—to the cast of Tigers Sniff the Rose drew even more public interest. He and Meng Ziyi share several intense scenes, including a wedding sequence, and the leaked footage appears notably intimate.

In one video, both actors are seen wearing striking red wedding costumes. Daddi Tang lifts Meng Ziyi in a bridal carry while the actress playfully resists but remains in his arms. Another leak shows them seated together on a prop horse in front of a green screen. Meng Ziyi appears tense as she “controls” the horse, while Daddi Tang sits behind her holding a whip and glancing back, portraying a chase sequence that ends with his character being fatally shot by an arrow.

However, the moment that sent social media into a frenzy came after the director yelled cut. In a short clip, Daddi Tang continues resting his head on Meng Ziyi’s right shoulder even though cameras have stopped rolling. Meng Ziyi doesn’t pull away; instead, she turns slightly and speaks softly to him. Their faces are extremely close—almost touching—leading to widespread buzz online. Some viewers immediately began “calling out” Li Yunrui, while others joked that Meng Ziyi is a “CP-manufacturing professional.”
Fans of Meng Ziyi later clarified that the interaction happened while the two were listening to the director explain the next sequence and walking through the blocking, which made their close posture appear ambiguous.
Daddi Tang’s look in Tigers Sniff the Rose has also become a talking point. Much thinner than usual, with darkened skin and rugged makeup to portray a tough southern warrior, his appearance contrasts sharply with his clean, fair image in Love’s Ambition and The Story of Pearl Girl.
In the drama, Meng Ziyi plays Mu Wanyao, the crown princess of the Wei Dynasty who is sent at age 15 to marry into the Wuman tribe. Considered too young by the tribe’s aging king, she ends up relying on the king’s son, Meng Taishi (played by Daddi Tang). Meng Taishi forces her into marriage, and Mu Wanyao must navigate the tribe’s dangerous political struggles to survive. She eventually returns to Wei alive as a heqin princess, meaning a royal woman married off to another tribe as part of a political peace agreement—becoming the first in Wei’s history to return home alive.
Back in the capital, she meets Yan Shang (Li Yunrui), the son of a disgraced official. Mu Wanyao gradually evolves from a proud royal into a calculating political strategist, while Yan Shang works his way upward despite his disadvantaged background. Together, the two face power struggles, revenge, and threats to the nation.
With three rising stars, leaked intimate scenes, and persistent romance rumors, Tigers Sniff the Rose has already generated enormous buzz long before its official release.
