LayarHijau – Chinese actor Ao Ruipeng was recently involved in a viral incident where he appeared to be followed by a fan in a car, sparking widespread discussion online. His official studio released a detailed statement on Saturday (Nov 2), emphasizing that such incidents have happened before and pose a serious risk to both the actor and his staff.
A video captured by the group of stalkers circulated on Weibo from Saturday, Nov 1 to Sunday, Nov 2, quickly going viral. In the footage, Ao Ruipeng can be seen standing in front of the stalkers’ car. Many Weibo users expressed outrage over the clip, as one of the stalkers seemed to interrogate Ao Ruipeng rather than the other way around. One user commented, “Why does it seem like he’s the one being questioned here? He answers everything they ask, shouldn’t he be the one asking? The background music also makes him look so unlucky, I can’t take it anymore hahaha I’m becoming a fan of him hahaha.”
The studio stated that they immediately reported the incident to traffic police. “Regarding this incident, we reported it to the traffic police as soon as it happened. Moving forward, we will follow the police’s instructions and fully cooperate with any investigations. Please rest assured,” the statement read.
Ao Ruipeng’s team added that stalking incidents like this have occurred multiple times, even in private areas such as residential communities, VIP airport zones, and backstage lounges at events. Some individuals, claiming to act out of love, have repeatedly endangered the actor. “We have repeatedly tried to communicate with them, asking them to respect his personal time. However, some continue to act recklessly,” the studio said.
The statement also mentioned that their staff had once been dragged several meters while trying to stop a fan chase. Despite this, the studio previously chose not to make the incidents public to avoid escalating the situation.
Ao Ruipeng is known for being a kind and grateful individual toward his fans. However, his management stressed that such behavior has crossed the line. “As his popularity grows, we deeply appreciate everyone’s support. But we also hope that everyone respects boundaries,” the studio added.
Regarding security, the studio confirmed that a dedicated security team has been in place since late October. However, during the viral chase incident, Ao Ruipeng was attending a private gathering with friends. “To avoid disturbing those close to him, the security team did not accompany him. After today’s incident, we have re-evaluated our approach and will ensure that security personnel are present during all future activities,” the studio stated.
The statement concluded with a call for fans to respect Ao Ruipeng’s personal space. “We ask everyone to help protect his limited private time so that he can live happily and continue to share his joy with everyone.”
