LayarHijau – A light‑hearted yet memorable moment occurred during actor Ding Yuxi’s live‑stream promotional event for his upcoming drama Fight For Love on 30 October 2025. In a spontaneous exchange, he delivered the line:
“要知道自己是谁，要活出自己，不要关注别的夫妻的生活！”
(“Know who you are, live for yourself, don’t focus on the lives of other couples!”)
The exchange unfolded when the host asked co‑star Fu Xinbo (playing Gu Chusheng) what might appear in his search history if he had a modern smartphone, to which Fu Xinbo replied, “Probably all about Chu Yu (played by Victoria Song) because that relationship means so much to me.” Ding Yuxi, portraying Wei Yun, immediately responded with the witty line above, triggering spontaneous laughter from the audience.

That quick‑witted remark went viral—not only for its humor but also for how it aligned with the character dynamics in the drama. Wei Yun harbours feelings for Chu Yu, who was formerly Gu Chusheng’s wife, and Ding Yuxi’s comment was interpreted by viewers as a playful nod to that storyline while keeping the mood light.
Beyond the humor, the line resonated for its positive message. Psychologist Chen Zhilin notes that the remark emphasises self‑focus and respecting other people’s boundaries—delivered here in an accessible, humourous way.
Audiences responded with memes and fan‑creations, such as images captioned “Gu Chusheng: Checking up on Chu Yu; Wei Yun: Put down your phone! Live for yourself!” The moment highlighted Ding Yuxi’s comedic timing and reinforced his bond with his character Wei Yun.
Ding Yuxi has gained recognition for his improvisational skills. During the livestream, he made several spontaneous jokes, sang or danced briefly, which—according to one director—balanced deep character immersion with a light, variety‑show feel. His professional approach and consistent promotion of healthy relationships align perfectly with the message behind the viral quote.
His acting in Fight For Love is also earning praise. The character Wei Yun evolves from a frivolous young man to a responsible general, and Ding Yuxi conveys this transformation through nuanced physical cues—trembling fingers, a strained voice in battle, and expressive gazes. Scenes between Wei Yun and Chu Yu convey subtle tension, caution and attraction, drawing viewers deeper into the narrative.
Synopsis of Fight For Love
The drama centres on Chu Yu, daughter of a great general whose family is framed for treason. Seeking justice for her family, Chu Yu is compelled by imperial decree to marry into the Wei family, a defeated clan, and along the way teams up with Wei Yun, the only surviving heir of that family. As palace intrigue, tribal warfare, and shifting loyalties ensnare them, the two forge a bond—not just of personal love but of mutual duty to defend their homeland. Fight For Love blends themes of betrayal, identity and sacrifice, making it more than a conventional romance saga.
