LayarHijau – Meng Ziyi’s studio has responded to a behind-the-scenes video from the set of Endless Summer (《无尽夏》) that recently circulated online, after the footage sparked claims that the actress repeatedly laughed during filming and had to redo scenes.
On August 31, the production team behind Endless Summer issued an official statement denying the allegations. The team said the claims circulating online did not reflect what actually happened on set.

“There were no instances of laughing during filming, performance mistakes, or a lack of focus at work,” the production team stated.
The team also urged the public not to believe or spread what it described as false rumors.
Meng Ziyi’s studio later reposted the statement, firmly rejecting what it called attempts to spread rumors and damage the actress’s reputation.
The studio also asked the public to focus on Meng Ziyi’s work as an actress rather than unverified claims circulating online. At the same time, it said it reserved the right to pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading defamatory information.
The clarification comes as Endless Summer draws attention for reuniting Meng Ziyi and Ding Yuxi. The two previously worked together in Love in Pavilion (《淮水竹亭》) and are now paired again as the leads of the upcoming romance drama.
Recent set photos and videos have also fueled interest in their on-screen chemistry. In several scenes, Meng Ziyi and Ding Yuxi appear in coordinated outfits while out on a date. They are also seen holding hands, while another scene shows Ding Yuxi’s character resting his head on Meng Ziyi’s lap.
Endless Summer is adapted from Shen Buqi’s novel of the same name. The story follows two lovers who are separated by circumstances for years before unexpectedly crossing paths again as adults.
Meng Ziyi plays Hao Nian, a gifted young woman with Asperger’s traits. During high school, Hao Nian and Shen Yan, played by Ding Yuxi, are both top students who secretly fall for each other. However, neither realizes that their feelings are mutual before they are forced apart.
Years later, Hao Nian becomes a well-known media professional, while Shen Yan becomes a professor of criminal psychology. Their reunion brings old misunderstandings back to the surface as the feelings they once kept hidden begin to resurface.
With the latest statement, both the production team and Meng Ziyi’s studio have made clear that the claims portraying the actress as frequently laughing during filming, making performance mistakes, or failing to stay focused do not reflect the actual situation on set.
