‘Tears on a Withered Flower’ follows the story of Na Hae-su and Beom Tae-ha. The webtoon has already built a strong following overseas, particularly in Japan, where it reached No. 1 on LINE Manga, Naver Webtoon’s Japanese-language service.
The series has recorded more than 550 million views worldwide, making it one of Naver Webtoon’s notable global hits.
The Seoul pop-up follows events previously held in Taiwan and Japan, giving Korean fans the chance to experience the series in an offline setting.
The event is also part of Naver Webtoon’s ongoing series of fandom-focused pop-up stores. The company launched the initiative earlier this month with the ‘Our Guild’s Idol’ pop-up and plans to continue bringing popular webtoon IPs to physical venues through December.
Upcoming pop-ups are expected to feature other popular titles, including ‘The S-Classes That I Raised’ (《내가 키운 S급들》) and ‘Special Civil Servant’ (《별정직 공무원》).
Gae, the creator of ‘Tears on a Withered Flower,’ expressed her happiness at having the opportunity to meet Korean fans in person following the success of the webtoon’s overseas pop-up events.
The relay-style pop-up series reflects Naver Webtoon’s growing focus on creating offline experiences tailored to the fandoms surrounding its popular IPs.
