LayarHijau – The urban romance drama Fall in You (灼心) premiered exclusively on iQIYI on August 16, 2025, starring Li Muchen and Fan Zhixin, two actors widely recognized for their work in short dramas in China. Adapted from the Tomato novel You Are All the Storms (你是所有的风雨), the story follows Qiao Yan, a young orphan determined to uncover the truth behind her parents’ deaths. She becomes close to Gu Jingyuan, the adopted son of a wealthy family who is technically considered a “young uncle” within the household. Initially full of suspicion, their relationship gradually turns into romance, bringing a touch of forbidden love amid family intrigue and revenge plots.
Despite its 24 episodes, each around 30 minutes long, viewers have been quick to criticize Fall in You for feeling more like a short drama than a full-length series. This perception is partly because both lead actors are strongly associated with mini-series in their previous work. Criticisms include weak plot logic, such as the wealthy heir living freely abroad despite a lack of parental support, and clichéd twists, including the revelation that Qiao Yan’s parents’ death was not an accident but a planned murder, as well as the controversial romance between the young uncle and his niece. Some viewers also feel that stretching the story to 24 episodes has resulted in thin content and production that doesn’t fully meet the expectations of a long-form drama.
