LayarHijau – Chinese actor Yang Yang is once again trending online. This time, it’s not because of his hit drama The Immortal Ascension (凡人修仙傳), but because of something surprisingly ordinary—a cracked phone case.
After keeping a low profile for quite some time, Yang Yang recently shared several vacation photos on social media. Dressed casually with messy bed hair and a bare face, the actor appeared relaxed and completely natural. But instead of focusing on his fresh, makeup-free look, netizens zeroed in on the phone case in his hand—noticeably covered in cracks.

Since Yang Yang often posts selfies, fans began to notice small changes in the cracks over time. What started as a light scratch eventually turned into a long fracture running across the entire case.
Some dedicated fans even created a “crack timeline,” comparing photos from different days and jokingly calling it a “documentary of a phone case’s difficult life.” Candid shots taken at airports and during variety show breaks also showed the same cracked case, suggesting that Yang Yang was surprisingly attached to it.
Speculation soon followed about what caused the damage. In one fan video, Yang Yang appeared to slip slightly while getting out of a car. Combined with a visible bruise on his knee and a torn T-shirt, many guessed that the phone might have been dropped during that incident.
“Poor guy, he finally goes on vacation and ends up falling. The phone’s cracked, and his knee’s bruised too,” one fan commented sympathetically as reported by World Journal.
The topic quickly went viral on Weibo, sparking a flood of humorous comments such as, “The phone case cracked because Yang Yang’s too handsome,” and “Those cracks are worse than my thesis stress.” Others joked, “He spent all his money on traveling, so there’s none left for a new case,” and “That case deserves its own fan club.”
Some fans even offered to send Yang Yang a new phone case, while others playfully claimed they’d pay a high price to buy his old one.
Even with such a trivial detail becoming the center of attention, one thing remains clear: Yang Yang’s charm is so strong that even a cracked phone case can turn into a viral moment.
