LayarHijau – Since the tragic fall of actor Yu Menglong became public, actress Song Yiren has also been caught up in the media storm. Rumors circulated that she was among those who invited Yu to the party before the incident. Although these claims spread widely, Song Yiren has clarified through her lawyer that the allegations are false.
Recently, an old clip of Song Yiren from Everybody Stand By 3 resurfaced online. In the segment, she played an “evil girl” with a commanding presence and sharp expressions, leaving the studio audience stunned. Many netizens commented after rewatching the video, saying, “This doesn’t feel like acting—it feels so real!”

Song Yiren’s “Sweet but Fierce” Performance
In the episode, Song Yiren acted alongside Jiang Yiyi. Originally, Jiang played the villain while Song portrayed a good student. However, mentor Rao Xueman felt Jiang lacked the necessary intensity and suggested swapping roles.
Once Song Yiren spoke, the atmosphere in the studio instantly shifted. Her soft voice carried immense pressure and manipulation, portraying a ruthless character convincingly. Rao Xueman exclaimed, “So fierce, little sister!” while the audience described the moment as “literally hair-raising.”
Many netizens praised her acting skills, commenting, “Her expression is sharp but elegant,” and “Finally a role that suits her.” Others, however, noted the performance was so realistic that it reminded them of the recent tragedy involving Yu Menglong, STEN.com reported.
Controversy: Alleged Cast Replacement and Calls for Boycott
After the clip resurfaced, negative rumors about Song Yiren intensified. Some social media posts linked her to the party Yu Menglong attended, and reports emerged that her new drama might have replaced her as the lead actress.
This sparked new speculation: were these decisions influenced by public pressure? Some netizens called for a boycott of her projects with hashtags like #DontWatchSongYiren, while others argued this was too extreme. “We don’t want her to disappear,” wrote one Weibo user, “we just want her to clarify the truth.”
Lawyer Statement: Song Yiren Not Involved in Yu Menglong Incident
Responding to the widespread rumors, Song Yiren’s lawyer, Yang Shuguang, issued an official statement on September 22. He firmly denied allegations that she “invited him to the party,” “forced him to drink,” or was “involved in the incident.” Legal action would be taken against anyone spreading false information.
Media reports also noted that Song Yiren personally clarified she was not at the scene and had moved out of the complex where the incident occurred about nine months prior.
Public Image: The Contrast Between Sweetness and Ruthlessness
Even with official clarification, discussion around Song Yiren remains intense. Her contrasting image—a soft-faced actress capable of portraying intense, ruthless characters—continues to draw public curiosity.
The Everybody Stand By 3 clip has become a symbol of this paradox—a performance showcasing Song Yiren’s acting talent while reigniting debate on the boundary between a role and reality.
