LayarHijau– The romantic costume fantasy drama A Dream Within A Dream (书梦/ADWAD) is currently airing and has attracted significant attention from Chinese drama audiences. The story follows Song Xiaoyu, a struggling actress who accidentally gets pulled into the world of a script. She becomes Song Yimeng, the female lead, and meets Nan Heng, a cold yet protective character played by Liu Yuning. Together, they embark on a journey to rewrite their fates, which were originally destined to be tragic.
In an interview with Sohu Entertainment, Li Yitong shared her impressions of Liu Yuning on set. Before filming, she thought Liu Yuning was as outgoing and lively as he appeared in his live streams. However, she discovered a very different side of him. “I thought he would be energetic and talkative, but in reality, he’s quite calm and slow to warm up,” she said.
Li Yitong also recalled a funny moment during filming when Liu Yuning finished his work earlier than the rest of the cast. “That day, he wrapped up first while we were still filming. We ended up watching his live stream together on set and joking about how he was already relaxing at home while we were still working,” she shared with a smile.
Despite their contrasting personalities, Li Yitong said their collaboration went smoothly. She felt comfortable performing romantic scenes with Liu Yuning, including one where her character jumped and hugged Nan Heng. “I was a bit worried because he’s so tall, and I wasn’t sure I could hang on properly. But it turned out we coordinated very well in that scene,” she said.
When asked whether she would work with Liu Yuning again, Li Yitong gave an open response. “If there’s another opportunity and the story fits, I wouldn’t mind. He’s a great partner to work with,” she said.
After talking about their behind-the-scenes interactions, Li Yitong briefly discussed the heart of ADWAD’s story. She explained that the drama is not only about romance but also about the characters’ struggle to fight against the tragic fate written for them.
However, she chose not to reveal how the story ends. “It’s better to watch it yourself and see how they face their destiny. For me, the most important part of the story is their journey to change their fate,” she explained.
