LayarHijau.com – On June 16, 2018, Chinese actor Chen Zheyuan experienced an unexpected incident during a brand event in Xi’an. While taking a group photo on stage, a female staff member suddenly approached and hugged him without permission. The sudden act visibly startled Chen Zheyuan, whose facial expression froze and body stiffened in response.
Footage from the event showed the salesgirl continuing to hug Chen Zheyuan and refusing to let go until the host stepped in and persuaded her to leave the stage. According to Sohu, the moment caused concern among fans.Shortly after the incident, the female staff member issued a public apology letter under her real name. She identified herself as a long-time fan of Chen Zheyuan and explained that she lost control due to excitement. She admitted to disregarding the actor’s physical condition and violating her duties as a professional staff member. In the letter, she also stated that her company had strongly criticized and educated her, and she was willing to take full responsibility for her actions.

It was later reported that Chen Zheyuan had just undergone surgery for a broken clavicle prior to the event. The unexpected physical contact may have affected his recovery process, prompting fans to express concern about his health.
Online reactions poured in. One netizen wrote, “Chen Zheyuan has a very good temper. If it were me, I would’ve been angry a long time ago. Whether it’s a fan or a salesgirl, people should have basic manners and ask for permission before hugging someone.”
Another added, “Apparently some fans demanded that the girl be fired. But someone else responded, ‘As a long-time fan of Chen Zheyuan, what’s wrong with the salesgirl hugging him? Chen Zheyuan himself didn’t say anything, and the salesgirl already apologized. Are the fans still going to make a fuss about firing her?’”
A more critical voice commented, “So now we can just write an apology letter and get away with it? Just because we call ourselves fans? We fans don’t dare. Chen Zheyuan just has a good temper. I hope all brands take this as a warning and make sure this kind of thing never happens again.”
