This reality show is an initiative for charity, originally conceived by Zhao Lusi herself. She wrote a proposal to Mango TV to create this show. To maintain the authenticity and depth of the experience, Zhao Lusi appears without makeup and is willing to work for free. Through this approach, she hopes to convey a positive message to society based on her real-life experiences.
The idea for this reality show emerged from Zhao Lusi’s bitter experiences at the end of last year. While filming the drama “Almost Lover,” she was rushed to the emergency room in December 2024 due to several health issues, including depression and aphasia. This condition made it difficult for her to communicate and walk, forcing her to temporarily halt her work.
During this challenging recovery period, Zhao Lusi discovered three words that became her guiding principles: “faith, courage, and work.” These three words not only reflect her personal journey but also the spirit she wishes to share with others. She realized that everything in her life revolves around “courage,” which serves as the main inspiration behind the show’s name “小小的勇气” (Little Courage). In difficult moments, Zhao Lusi learned that the courage to face challenges and faith in a better future are key to rising again. Through this experience, she hopes to inspire many people not to give up and to keep fighting, even in their darkest hours.
In the show, she interacts with children in remote areas, finding happiness and new meaning in her life. Despite still being in the recovery process, she strives to give her best for the viewers and the children she meets.
Zhao Lusi stated that during the shooting of the reality show, she aims to stay authentic and natural. “I shouldn’t be able to shoot,” she said, showing awareness of her physical condition, which is not yet fully recovered. In this program, she demonstrates her dedication to interacting with the children without makeup and for free, reflecting her genuine intention to spread a positive message. This attitude showcases her commitment to giving her best, even in difficult circumstances, while highlighting the spirit of courage she wishes to share with the audience.
Meanwhile, the filming of the drama “Almost Lover” has yet to resume. When Zhao Lusi fell ill, the production of the drama was forced to stop. Now, after her recovery, rumors have emerged about the discontinuation of the drama’s filming.
Several rumors are circulating regarding the reasons behind this decision. Some suggest that Zhao Lusi does not want to continue filming because she wishes to terminate her contract with her management. Upmedia has also reported other rumors indicating that Zhao Lusi is reluctant to continue due to issues in the filming process of the drama.
According to the circulating information, the director of the drama, Deng Ke, is often absent from the filming location, while Zhao Lusi is said to have received multiple versions of the script. Although not explained in detail, it is rumored that the dialogue in the script changes each time they shoot, causing her to feel emotionally and physically exhausted. Of course, all of this remains speculative. We can only wait for official confirmation from the relevant parties regarding the continuation of the filming of “Almost Lover.”
