“Perfect Match” remains in fourth place in the Netflix Taiwan ratings, despite criticism regarding the significant reduction of love scenes between the characters played by Wang Xingyue and Lu Yuxiao after their marriage. The drama is now heading towards its final phase, and the appearance of two guest stars in recent episodes has been praised by viewers.
In the latest plot, the fifth sister of the Li family, Le Shan, played by Huang Yang Tiantian, is forced to marry Yang Xian, a wealthy young man portrayed by Dong Sicheng. The two are involved in intense conflict.
Lan Yingying appears as Yang Yue Niang, Yang Xian’s sister, who enters the palace to become a concubine. She upholds justice for Le Shan and receives acclaim for her acting skills. Previously, Lan Yingying was well-known for her roles as Guan Zhizhi in “The Tale of Rose” and Huanbi in “The Legend of Zhen Huan.” Some netizens noted that she and Joseph Zeng Shunxi, who plays the king, have great chemistry.
In episode 30 of “Perfect Match,” Le Shan, played by Huang Yang Tiantian, finds herself in a dispute with Yang Xian, portrayed by Dong Sicheng. They argue in front of the Yang family, where Le Shan tries to manage the situation but is taken advantage of by Yang Xian’s mother and aunt, who favor their son.
When Lan Yingying appears as Yang Yue Niang and returns to the Yang family, they initially believe her arrival will support them. However, after Yang Yue Niang admonishes the Yang family and gives Le Shan a golden staff to teach the family members a lesson, everyone understands Yang Yue Niang’s true purpose for returning. Lan Yingying’s performance is captivating, and netizens compare her to the king played by Joseph Zeng Shunxi, considering them a perfect match.
Lan Yingying rose to fame last year for her role as Guan Zhizhi in “The Tale of Rose.” In that drama, her fiancé, who had been with her for many years, fell in love with the main character played by Liu Yifei.
Initially, Guan Zhizhi sought revenge, but the two unexpectedly became friends after a deep conversation. Guan Zhizhi decided to start anew after being persuaded by Huang Yimei. Both characters shared a balanced aura in the drama. Lan Yingying is not inferior to Liu Shishi in terms of acting or beauty, and her charming performance captivated the audience. Although she only appeared as a supporting character, she left a lasting impression, wrote Upmedia.
Lan Yingying, previously known for her role as Huanbi in “The Legend of Zhen Huan,” gained fame in Taiwan and China since 2011. She played Sun Li’s half-sister in that drama. While her character was more famous than she was at the time, her popularity rose significantly after her role in “The Tale of Rose,” where she successfully captured attention as both a character and an actress.
