LayarHijau.com—When a beverage brand recently announced that Zhao Lusi would attend an offline promotional event on January 25, 2025, netizens and fans had mixed reactions.
Some fans expressed hope that if Zhao Lusi was willing to work again, it meant she had recovered her health. However, other netizens and fans felt angry and accused Zhao Lusi’s management of pressuring the actress to work even though she had not fully healed. They argued that the illness Zhao Lusi suffered from, which left her nearly unable to walk and requiring rehabilitation to walk and eat, was not a trivial matter.

On Friday, Zhao Lusi gave an exclusive interview with Global Times to discuss her condition. She revealed that she was feeling much better than before. The beautiful actress stated that her doctors had initially estimated her recovery would take 3-4 months. She has been undergoing treatment for almost a month now.
Today, Zhao Lusi attended the offline promotional event for the beverage brand, wearing a red outfit. She appeared fresh and cheerful, although she looked thinner.
She entered the stage in a flower-adorned horse-drawn carriage. With the help of the event host, she dismounted and walked to the stage.
Zhao Lusi expressed her hope that those attending the event could leave behind all the difficulties and challenges faced in 2024 and embrace the new year with joy.
During the discussion session, she addressed some netizens’ remarks questioning how she could recover so quickly after only a short period of treatment. “Recently, I saw people call me a medical miracle. The advice was to drink more water. Drink more water,” she joked, laughing.
In the same session, she explained her reasons for deciding to participate in the event. She said that even though she is not the CEO of a large company, as an actress, she clearly sees the impact she has on her fans.
When news of her illness and emergency hospitalization in a wheelchair broke, Zhao Lusi noticed many of her fans expressing their concerns, even to the point of tears.
“I felt my heart hurt. Don’t cry. But I thought, before the new year (Lunar New Year), they could see… I’m okay, right?” she said in a video clip on Weibo.
She also urged the public not to underestimate mental health issues like depression. She advised not to wait until problems become severe but to seek help immediately, including talking to someone you trust.
