In a surprising turn of events, actor Li Mingde openly expressed his dissatisfaction with the crew of The Triple Echo of Time. He questioned why one of the lead actors was given special treatment by being absent during the script reading that involved the entire team.
Li pointed out that while the whole crew gathered for the script reading, this actor was missing, raising significant concerns about fairness and professionalism in the production.
He also expressed his frustration over the lead actor being 40 minutes late for rehearsal. In the extreme conditions of Changchun, where temperatures dropped to minus 17 degrees Celsius, Li was left waiting at the location wearing only a single layer of clothing.
“I waited for him at the spot for over 40 minutes. When I arrived, the words in the script made no sense. How was I supposed to perform?” Li revealed, clearly frustrated.
Furthermore, Li questioned who actually did not want him to portray the character Zhao Zuoyou. He wondered if there was influence from the director, the casting director, or even a famous actor involved in that decision. “Is there some unspeakable secret behind all this?” he asked.
This incident has sparked confusion and speculation among fans and netizens, who have begun to question the behind-the-scenes dynamics of this highly anticipated production. The controversy highlights the challenges actors face in the film industry, especially in high-pressure situations with elevated expectations.
Although he did not mention the name of the actor he criticized, the lead of this drama is Ma Tian Yu, who plays Zhao Zuoyou.
One Weibo user praised Li Mingde for his critique, noting that it propelled both the actor and the The Triple Echo of Time crew into hot search, ranking from first to fourth on the trending topics list. This occurred amidst the grand Tencent Video All Star Night 2024 event, attended by many popular stars in China.
