The series follows Luan Nian, a sharp-tongued, no-nonsense boss, and Shang Zhi Tao, a young newcomer finding her footing in the workplace. What starts as a professional relationship gradually turns into a romance they have to keep hidden from their colleagues.

The Early Spring has also taken a more deliberate approach to its intimate scenes, with the production bringing in a professional intimacy coordinator to help choreograph and oversee the actors’ romantic scenes.
Here are four of the most talked-about kiss scenes between Luan Nian and Shang Zhi Tao so far.
1. The Intimate Opening Scene
The Early Spring opens with a flashback, immediately giving viewers a glimpse of how far Luan Nian and Shang Zhi Tao’s relationship has progressed.
The opening scene shows the two in an intimate moment, hinting from the very beginning that their relationship is about much more than a simple workplace crush.
Rather than leaning on heavy filters or drawn-out slow-motion shots, the scene focuses on the actors’ expressions, body language and chemistry. It sets up the emotional tension between the two characters while leaving viewers curious about how they got to that point.
2. The Drunken Sofa Kiss
One of the most talked-about kiss scenes comes in Episode 5, when Shang Zhi Tao gets drunk and becomes more open about her feelings for Luan Nian.
The two end up at Luan Nian’s home, where their growing attraction comes to a head on the sofa.
What makes the scene particularly memorable is the reversal in their usual dynamic. Shang Zhi Tao, normally the inexperienced newcomer and Luan Nian’s subordinate, takes the lead, while the usually commanding boss finds himself going along with her.
That unexpected shift gives the scene a different energy from their interactions at work and has helped make the sofa kiss one of the drama’s most discussed romantic moments.
3. The Rainy-Night Car Kiss
Another standout moment takes place inside a car on a rainy night.
There is very little dialogue. Instead, the scene lets the characters’ expressions and body language do most of the work, conveying all the tension and feelings that have been building between them.
Trapped together in the confined space of the car, Luan Nian and Shang Zhi Tao finally let their emotions take over. The scene avoids overexplaining what they feel and instead allows their actions to speak for themselves.
Jing Boran and Sun Qian’s chemistry is especially noticeable here, as the two actors manage to convey the characters’ pent-up emotions without relying on lengthy conversations.
4. The Secret Stairwell Kiss
Once Luan Nian and Shang Zhi Tao’s relationship becomes more serious, keeping their romance hidden at work becomes part of the challenge.
Around their colleagues, the two have to maintain a professional distance. When they are alone, however, that restraint quickly disappears.
Their secret kiss in the office stairwell captures that contrast perfectly.
The secluded setting adds an extra sense of tension to the moment. They have to worry about being caught by a colleague, yet the brief encounter also gives them a chance to put their professional personas aside and simply be together.
It is a small but telling moment that captures the appeal of their secret workplace romance.
From the intimate opening scene to the drunken sofa kiss, rainy-night car kiss and secret stairwell encounter, these moments chart the changing relationship between Luan Nian and Shang Zhi Tao.
As The Early Spring continues to draw attention for the chemistry between Jing Boran and Sun Qian, their kiss scenes have become one of the drama’s biggest talking points among viewers.
