The RG 1/144 Gundam Ground Type was unveiled as part of the first “Latest! Gunpla Information Bureau” program on August 25.
The new kit puts a strong emphasis on recreating scenes and poses from the anime. According to the announcement, it is designed to make a clean kneeling pose easier to achieve than with previous RG kits, making it particularly suited for recreating the Gundam Ground Type’s iconic combat poses.
The kit also features the Gundam Ground Type’s 180mm cannon, which can be stored in the weapon rack on its back. The storage compartment incorporates a mechanism that allows it to extend outward, adding another layer of detail and functionality to the model.
With its detailed articulation and mechanisms designed to reproduce scenes from Mobile Suit Gundam 08th MS Team, the RG 1/144 Gundam Ground Type is shaping up to be an appealing release for Gunpla fans ahead of its February 2027 launch.
