LayarHijau – Zhao Lusi is stepping into a new role behind the scenes with Sonder: I’m Not an NPC (《SONDER·我不是NPC》), a short drama she is producing and supervising. The project began filming in Hengdian on August 22.
The drama marks Zhao Lusi’s first production project since leaving her former agency and represents a new chapter in her career behind the camera. She is taking on both producer and supervising roles, giving her a more hands-on involvement in the making of the drama.

Sonder: I’m Not an NPC is a short-form drama centered on an ensemble of female characters. The cast includes Bao Jieyi, Wei Xiao, Hou Ben, and Zhou Zhiyi, with several of the performers being actors under Zhao Lusi’s management as well as friends and people from her circle.
The production has also attracted strong commercial backing. Numerous flower baskets were seen at the filming site, many of them sent by brands rather than fans. More than 20 brands are said to have shown their support for the production.
The number of brands backing the project has also highlighted Zhao Lusi’s commercial appeal as she takes on a greater role behind the camera. Rather than simply appearing in front of the camera, she is now directly involved in overseeing the production.
The production itself is also unusually large for a short drama. The number of staff working on set is said to be comparable to the size of a crew typically seen on a full-length drama, giving the project a scale more commonly associated with longer television productions.
As both producer and supervisor, Zhao Lusi has a much more hands-on role in the project than she would as an actress alone. Sonder: I’m Not an NPC therefore marks an important step as she expands her work behind the camera following her departure from her former agency.
