LayarHijau – Mystic Nine (九门) continues to dominate China’s drama scene. According to Yunhe Data’s daily rankings for August 3, the drama starring William Chan, Joseph Zeng, and Sebrina Chen remained firmly in first place with a 28.1% effective playback market share.
Meanwhile, newly premiered drama Genius Girlfriend (天才，女友), starring Tian Xiwei and Hu Yitian, made an impressive debut by breaking into the Top 5 after premiering on August 2. On its first day of release, the series recorded a 6.2% effective playback market share, placing fifth on the chart.

According to Sohu, Genius Girlfriend saw only a modest increase on its second day, with its market share rising to 6.9%. Despite the improvement, the drama remained in fifth place. Mixed audience reactions were cited as one of the reasons its popularity has yet to see a significant surge.
As a newly launched series, Genius Girlfriend has yet to shake up the overall competition. Several dramas already on air actually posted gains in their market share during the same period.
Mystic Nine further strengthened its lead with a 28.1% market share. Wind-Born Warriors (兵自风中来), starring Oho Ou, held steady in second place after its effective playback market share edged up from 13.2% to 13.4%.
Blossoms of Power (百花杀) ranked third with a 10.9% market share. Close behind was Overdo (这一秒过火), starring Zhang Linghe and Wang Churan, which climbed slightly from 10.5% to 10.6%, securing fourth place.
Meanwhile, Royal Betrothal (御廷谣), starring Wu Jinyan and Chen Zheyuan, remained sixth with a 6.0% effective playback market share.
