Two other dramas aired during the same period. The mystery drama Dream (醉梦), starring Liu Shishi, got off to an unremarkable start. Its market share on the first day was just 2.5%, ranking 13th among the dramas airing at the same time, before rising to 3.9% the following day and moving up to eighth place.
The Republican-era romance The Lament of Autumn (玉簟秋), starring Cheng Lei and Xu Ruohan, also began airing. Behind-the-scenes material from its set went viral several times during filming, and many viewers saw it as a potential hit before it aired. Its opening was relatively weak, however, with a 4.4% market share on day one. The figure rose to 8.8% on day two, then climbed to 9.5%, 10.6%, and 11% on successive days, before dipping slightly to 10.5%. The pattern shows a steady upward climb.
All three dramas premiered at the same time on three different platforms, and each has shown a distinct popularity curve. These figures reflect only early performance, so how the series develop remains to be seen.
