LayarHijau – Dilraba Dilmurat has revealed that she initially thought she was being scammed after receiving an offer to star in Stephen Chow’s latest film, Kung Fu Soccer. The actress admitted she didn’t believe the producer’s phone call because she had never heard that Chow was working on a new movie.
In a recent interview, Dilraba recalled that she was in a car when the producer called with the casting offer. Her first reaction was that it couldn’t possibly be real.

She explained that she had no idea Stephen Chow was preparing a new film at the time, which was why she found the offer hard to believe.
It wasn’t until Stephen Chow personally called her and explained the role she would be playing that she realized the offer was genuine. Dilraba said she was both surprised and delighted to have the opportunity to work with the legendary filmmaker.
“I never imagined I would have the chance to star in a film directed by Stephen Chow,” she said.
In Kung Fu Soccer, Dilraba plays Yu Long, the No. 8 striker for Team Emei and the team’s attacking centerpiece.
She described playing a female footballer as a major challenge. Before filming began, she told Stephen Chow that she would undergo physical training to build the strength needed for the film’s action scenes.
“Playing a female footballer was a huge challenge for me. I told the director that I would complete physical training before joining the production so my action scenes would have more power,” Dilraba said.
To prepare for the role, Dilraba completed three months of intensive physical training. She gained around eight kilograms, underwent systematic football training, and practiced high-difficulty action sequences. She also performed all of her on-field scenes without using a stunt double.
Kung Fu Soccer, which premiered on July 11, marks Dilraba Dilmurat’s return to the big screen after a lengthy absence from feature films.
