“The role required building muscle and improving limb coordination, so I went through personal physical training to gain muscle mass,” she said.

Her remarks echoed earlier reports that she gained around 8 kilograms while preparing for the role. In addition to building muscle, Dilraba cut her hair short and intentionally tanned her skin to better match the look of an athlete who spends long hours training outdoors.
Dilraba said the darker complexion was part of her commitment to the character.
“I got pretty tanned during the early stages of filming. It’s actually hard for me to get deeply tanned, but I really tried to spend time in the sun for the role,” she said.
Stephen Chow then chimed in with a playful remark.
“But the weather during production really helped with that,” he joked before adding, “For a beautiful woman, getting tanned is usually a pretty big deal.”
Dilraba immediately played along.
“It’s okay. A beautiful woman is still beautiful even with a tan,” she replied with a laugh, earning even more laughter from the crowd.
The actress also addressed recent online rumors claiming she had suffered a swollen ankle during filming.
“The rumor that my ankle was swollen today is completely false. If it were swollen, it wouldn’t look this slim,” she said.
Dilraba added that she had no idea where the rumor originated and stressed that safety was taken seriously throughout the production.
“It’s completely baseless. Everyone was incredibly professional throughout the shoot, and the director took great care to ensure our safety. Everyone, including the action director, trusted one another, so there was never a situation where someone got injured and couldn’t continue filming the next scene,” she explained.
She also responded to reports claiming her body fat had dropped significantly while preparing for the film, saying she had never actually measured it.
“I’ve never measured my body fat percentage. Even now, I don’t know what it is. What’s most important is giving your all for the role,” she said.
Kung Fu Soccer serves as the spiritual successor to Stephen Chow’s iconic sports comedy Shaolin Soccer. Dilraba stars as Yu Long, the star striker of Team Emei, alongside Zhang Xiaofei, Zhang Yixing, Carina Lau, Zhao Lina, and special guest star Takeru Satoh.
