LayarHijau– Tickets for Zhao Lusi’s Stay Romantic concert in Macau sold out almost instantly across six ticketing platforms, with around 430,000 fans joining the online rush in hopes of securing seats.
The overwhelming demand left many fans empty-handed, highlighting Zhao’s growing drawing power beyond her acting career. The concert, held at Galaxy Arena in Macau, has become one of the most talked-about live events among Chinese entertainment fans this summer.
The excitement follows the success of Zhao’s Bangkok concert, where she impressed audiences with a performance that went beyond music. Alongside a sold-out show, she incorporated traditional Chinese cultural elements into the concert, earning widespread praise online.
Ahead of the Bangkok performance, Zhao learned Thai so she could sing the popular song Even If We Know We’ll Meet in the local language. She also performed bian lian, the iconic face-changing art of Sichuan Opera, in an elaborate costume. The performance quickly went viral, with many fans praising her for bringing a traditional Chinese art form to an overseas stage.
The Bangkok concert also caught the attention of the Tourism Authority of Thailand and later became a trending topic on X in five countries.
Behind the successful performances, however, was a challenging recovery. About a month before the Bangkok concert, Zhao was hospitalized after her health deteriorated. She was even seen using a wheelchair, while doctors reportedly advised her to rest for at least three months.
Despite the setback, Zhao returned to the stage after completing a rehabilitation program under the supervision of a professional recovery team. During the Bangkok concert, she performed nearly 18 songs live while dancing, wore 15-centimeter heels throughout the show, and changed into eight haute couture outfits.
In an interview with Renwu (People) magazine, Zhao’s rehabilitation therapist said her return was carefully planned rather than rushed. Dance rehearsals were limited to 15-minute sessions followed by mandatory breaks, the choreography was adjusted to reduce strain on her lower back, and her high heels were fitted with hidden support to improve stability on stage.
The Macau sellout marks another milestone for Zhao’s Stay Romantic tour. With hundreds of thousands of fans competing for tickets, the concert once again reflects the strong enthusiasm surrounding one of China’s most popular young stars.
