LayarHijau – The studio of Chinese actress Lu Yuxiao has officially announced legal action after the actress became embroiled in controversy over alleged unprofessional behavior during the filming of the costume drama Dancing with the Tide (何不同舟渡).
On May 6, Lu Yuxiao’s studio released a new statement through lawyer Yang Shuguang, saying they had completed evidence collection and legal preparations against several online users accused of spreading defamatory content.

According to the statement, the studio has already notarized evidence related to the alleged infringement and plans to file lawsuits in court to pursue full legal responsibility against those involved.
The controversy began after several leaked behind-the-scenes videos from the set of Dancing with the Tide went viral on Chinese social media. Lu Yuxiao was accused of being unprofessional on set, including repeatedly causing NGs — a filming term referring to failed takes that need to be reshot — and allegedly delaying production.
One of the most discussed clips showed Lu Yuxiao filming a romantic scene with Tan Jianci. In the scene, the characters were supposed to look up at fireworks in the sky after talking together. However, the leaked video appeared to show Lu Yuxiao continuously staring at Tan Jianci while smiling, as the director could reportedly be heard repeatedly telling them to look at the fireworks. The scene was later said to require another take.
Another viral clip showed Lu Yuxiao holding a knife incorrectly during a hostage scene involving Tan Jianci’s character. The actress was reportedly corrected by the director after holding the blade backward.
Additional criticism emerged after Lu Yuxiao was seen filming a dance video on set while wearing funeral costume attire from the drama. Some netizens accused her of delaying production while the crew waited for the recording to finish.
Outside the filming set, Lu Yuxiao’s social media activity also drew attention after fans discovered that she had saved a fan-edited kissing scene video featuring herself and Tan Jianci. Some online users speculated that she had become too emotionally invested and distracted during filming.
In response to the growing backlash, Lu Yuxiao’s studio had previously issued a clarification denying all allegations. The studio rejected claims that she made co-stars wait for seven hours, frequently caused production delays, or ignored instructions from staff members on set.
The statement further argued that the viral clips had been maliciously edited and taken out of context to create a negative narrative surrounding the actress. The studio insisted that accusations involving mishandling props, joking around in mourning costumes, or intentionally disrupting filming were misleading and distorted.
Meanwhile, Lu Yuxiao’s fans defended the actress, saying occasional mistakes during filming are normal in drama production. They also noted that Lu Yuxiao has a long history of liking or saving fan-edited videos from many of her projects, not only content involving Tan Jianci.
Lu Yuxiao first gained widespread attention through the drama My Journey to You (云之羽), starring alongside Zhang Linghe and Esther Yu. Her popularity surged further last year with Love in the Clouds (入青云) opposite Hou Minghao.
