Zhang Linghe’s popularity surged thanks to his deeply devoted character and the emotional love story he shares on screen. In the drama, Xie Zheng is left on the brink of death after being ambushed by assassins and even buried in the snow. He is ultimately saved by Fan Changyu, played by Tian Xiwei. Their dramatic first encounter gradually develops into a deeper romance over time. Combined with the director’s aesthetic cinematography and detailed styling and costume design, their on-screen chemistry has captivated audiences.
In third place, Lin Muran, who plays Changxin Crown Prince Sui Yuanqing, recorded an increase of 1.614 million followers. His transformation into a cunning and mysterious character left many viewers barely recognizing him as the former child actor from Nothing But You.
Meanwhile, Li Qing, who portrays Xie Zheng’s strategist and close friend Gongsun Yin, gained 1.305 million followers, ranking fourth. He also drew attention for his romantic storyline with Princess Qi Shu, played by Yu Zhongli, who herself gained 193,000 followers and ranked eighth.
The most popular supporting couple features Deng Kai as Crown Prince Qi Min and Kong Xueer as inn owner Yu Qianqian. Their emotionally intense relationship—between an obsessive crown prince and a woman yearning for freedom—has become one of the drama’s key highlights. Deng Kai gained 1.159 million followers (fifth place), while Kong Xueer added 932,000 followers (sixth place).
On the other hand, Ren Hao, who plays Li Huaian, the grandson of Grand Tutor Li, also caught attention with his unrequited love for Fan Changyu. He gained 256,000 followers, placing seventh.
The success of Pursuit of Jade has not only elevated its lead stars but also created a rare phenomenon where nearly the entire cast experienced a simultaneous surge in popularity.
