LayarHijau – The cast of the historical romance drama Pursuit of Jade (逐玉) recently held a special promotional event in Hengdian on March 11. The event brought together several of the drama’s main stars, including Zhang Linghe, Tian Xiwei, Kong Xue’er, Deng Kai, Li Qing, and Yu Zhongli, with Ren Hao appearing as a special guest. Fans were eager to see the cast interact off-screen as they promoted the drama together.

One of the highlights of the event was the playful interaction between Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei. The two were asked to recreate a scene from the drama in which Tian Xiwei’s character measures Zhang Linghe’s body measurements. During the reenactment, Tian Xiwei jokingly measured his shoulder width and leg length using a tape measure.

Zhang Linghe asked if his leg length was really about 115 cm. Tian Xiwei responded playfully, claiming it was “150 cm,” which immediately made him burst into laughter. He then jokingly replied that the number sounded “about right,” prompting more laughter from the audience.

The moment that drew the loudest cheers from fans happened when Tian Xiwei measured Zhang Linghe’s waist. To do so, she wrapped her arms around him from behind while holding the measuring tape. Zhang Linghe cooperated by raising his arms to make the measurement easier, a gesture that sent the crowd into excited screams.

During the event, Zhang Linghe’s measurements were also revealed. He reportedly has shoulders measuring about 50 cm wide, a waist circumference of 70 cm, and a leg length of 115 cm, proportions that many fans described as an ideal physique.

The pair also recreated one of the drama’s memorable lines. In the playful exchange, Zhang Linghe asked, “If I stop working, will you support me?” Tian Xiwei answered with the same line used in the series, “I’ll slaughter pigs to support you.” The humorous line drew laughter and cheers from the audience.

Throughout the event, Tian Xiwei affectionately addressed Zhang Linghe as “Zhang Ge,” while Zhang Linghe called her “Xiao Tian.” The casual nicknames made fans feel that the two looked very comfortable with each other.

Another fun moment came when fans in the audience asked Tian Xiwei to shout the line “Qingtian Da Laoye.”

In historical Chinese dramas, “Qingtian Da Laoye” is a call used by commoners to address a judge or magistrate in court, similar to saying “Your Honor!” before presenting a plea or defense.

In Pursuit of Jade, the line appears in a courtroom storyline involving Tian Xiwei’s character, Fan Changyu. In the story, Fan Changyu is trained by Zhang Linghe’s character, Xie Zheng, to present a legal defense against her uncle, who is trying to seize ownership of her family home. “Qingtian Da Laoye!” is the opening call she uses when addressing the judge during her plea.

When fans asked Tian Xiwei to shout the line during the promotional event, Zhang Linghe joined in and shouted it together with her while mimicking the gesture from the drama scene, making the moment even more adorable for the audience.

Meanwhile, the drama’s secondary couple also brought lively energy to the stage. Deng Kai and Kong Xue’er recreated a game featured in the drama that involves assembling a “facial puzzle,” where different facial features must be combined to form a complete portrait.

The two actors showed strong teamwork as they quickly completed the puzzle together, drawing cheers from fans watching the event.

Toward the end of the event, fans requested Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei to pose for photos with a wedding-style concept. The production team prepared a bridal veil for Tian Xiwei, while Zhang Linghe stood beside her as they posed together.

Zhang Linghe later shared the photo on Weibo, and it quickly caught fans’ attention. Many commented that the pair looked like a real newlywed couple.

Interestingly, before the drama aired, the project had faced several doubts during its production period. At the time, some reports claimed that Tian Xiwei’s busy schedule meant she was not always present on set, leading to speculation that Zhang Linghe had filmed certain scenes with stand-ins.

However, once the drama began airing, many viewers praised the on-screen interaction between Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei. Even though the two did not appear to deliberately promote themselves as a couple outside the drama, their performances were convincing enough to immerse audiences in their characters’ relationship.

As the drama continues to gain popularity, the chemistry between the cast—both on screen and during promotional events—has become one of the most talked-about aspects among fans. Many viewers are now hoping that Zhang Linghe and Tian Xiwei will collaborate again in future projects.
