In a calm tone, the actor shared that the left side of his face was once seriously injured in an accident and required eight stitches.
What surprised many people even more was the story behind the procedure. Xu Kai explained that the anesthesia used during the stitching process stopped working halfway through the operation.
Even so, he endured the pain and finished the entire procedure while fully conscious. He did not ask for additional anesthesia and did not complain much about the experience.
The revelation quickly touched many fans. Many were shocked to learn that behind his polished appearance and handsome face on screen, Xu Kai had gone through such a painful experience.
Some people were also curious about how a wound that required eight stitches left almost no visible mark on his face.
Responding to that, Xu Kai joked that he was fortunate not to have a skin type that easily develops scars. He said his recovery after the procedure went very well, leaving almost no visible trace, even under high-definition cameras.
Throughout his years working in the entertainment industry, Xu Kai has never used that injury to gain sympathy from the public. Whether while filming dramas or appearing on variety shows, he chose not to talk about it.
This attitude has led some observers to contrast him with certain public figures who often highlight their hardships or injuries as part of publicity.
In contrast, Xu Kai believes that injuries are fairly common in an actor’s line of work. For that reason, he feels there is no need to exaggerate the hardships that come with the job.
His personality, which tends to share only the positive side with the public, has led him to show audiences his brightest side while quietly carrying the difficulties himself.
This unexpected confession allowed many people to see another side of Xu Kai. Behind his gentle and relaxed image, fans believe he also has strong resilience.
With his humble attitude and focus on his work, many fans say they appreciate him even more. They also hope Xu Kai will continue bringing memorable roles in the future while staying safe during filming.
