LayarHijau – South Korean sci-fi disaster film The Great Flood (2025) continues its strong run on Netflix, maintaining the No. 1 position on the platform’s non-English movies chart for four consecutive weeks. The achievement was confirmed in Netflix’s official weekly data released on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
Directed by Kim Byung-woo, the Netflix original drew 5.2 million views during the tracking period ending January 11. The figure placed it comfortably ahead of the Indian courtroom drama Haq (2025), which followed in second place with 4.5 million views.
Thanks to its sustained global performance, The Great Flood has also climbed to No. 7 on Netflix’s all-time list of most-watched non-English films. Notably, it currently stands as the only South Korean title to secure a spot in the top 10 ranking.
Released on December 19 last year, The Great Flood centers on An-na, portrayed by Kim Da-mi, a single mother raising her six-year-old son. Her ordinary life is shattered when she wakes up to find her apartment complex overwhelmed by a sudden, catastrophic flood that rapidly spreads across the world. As the building fills with water, An-na must fight against time and fear to keep her child alive while navigating the submerged structure.
In addition, Yeon Sang-ho’s latest mystery film The Ugly (2025) made a notable entry on the weekly chart. The low-budget production debuted at No. 5, amassing around 2 million views in its first week of release.
Adapted from Yeon Sang-ho’s 2018 debut graphic novel, The Ugly follows Dong-hwan (Park Jeong-min), the son of a blind seal engraver named Young-kyu (Kwon Hae-hyo). The story traces Dong-hwan’s search for the truth behind his mother’s unexplained disappearance, a mystery that has remained unsolved for nearly forty years.
