LayarHijau– The fantasy costume drama The Unclouded Soul, starring Tan Songyun and Hou Minghao, presents a time-spanning love story filled with conflict, misunderstandings, and sacrifice. Throughout the series, the relationship between the two lead characters goes through repeated ups and downs, particularly when Tan Songyun’s character uses a time-reversal formation twice to uncover the fateful bond linking her to Hou Minghao’s character across past and present lives.
The Unclouded Soul centers on the conflict between humans and the demon clan, sparked by the struggle over the Divine Yuli Spring. Tan Songyun plays Xiao Yao, a free-spirited human girl who accidentally enters the Valley of Ten Thousand Demons and disrupts the balance of the demon world. There, she becomes entangled with Hong Ye, the Demon King portrayed by Hou Minghao. Initially wary of humans, Hong Ye gradually begins to waver through his interactions with Xiao Yao, while unresolved ties from a previous life further complicate their relationship.
Xiao Yao later learns of the existence of a magical formation capable of reversing the flow of time. In order to restore Hong Ye’s strength, she seeks to obtain a drop of crystallized tears from his spirit and recklessly activates the ritual. Instead of simply altering the present, she is sent back to her past life, where she lives as Princess Ning An. During that time, she encounters a younger version of Hong Ye, and the two share a brief period of togetherness.
The situation takes a tragic turn when Ning An’s father secretly devises a scheme under the guise of a political marriage, while his true intention is to use his daughter to kill Hong Ye. While under the control of a puppet technique, Ning An stabs Hong Ye and is forced to utter the most painful lie, claiming that she “never loved him.” After witnessing Hong Ye vanish, Ning An collapses and cries hysterically, becoming one of the most emotionally draining scenes in the drama.
After fully learning what transpired in their past life and successfully obtaining the crystallized tears, Xiao Yao returns to the present. She helps Hong Ye restore his strength, and the two later hold a wedding in the Valley of Ten Thousand Demons as a continuation of their relationship in the present timeline.
