Bai Lu attended the event to promote her upcoming historical costume drama Mo Li (莫離), which also stars Cheng Lei and is currently awaiting its release.
On the red carpet, Bai Lu appeared elegant yet sensual in a black-and-white sequined gown with a high slit from Ulyana Sergeenko’s Spring/Summer 2025 haute couture collection. Mo Li is a historical fantasy drama infused with elements of romance, politics, and revenge. It is adapted from the novel Sheng Shi Di Fei by Feng Qing. The story centers on Ye Li, the eldest daughter of a noble family who, in her previous life, had a background as a special forces soldier. Through an imperial marriage arrangement, she becomes the wife of Prince Mo Xiuyao, a prince believed to be physically weak and chronically ill—though the truth proves to be far more complicated.
On the surface, the marriage appears mismatched and is even ridiculed by many. Behind her bridal veil and calm smile, Ye Li secretly plans her revenge for the misfortune and injustice suffered by her family and clan. At the same time, she must confront broader palace conspiracies and power struggles for the throne involving figures such as Prince Jing Li.
At the beginning, the relationship between Ye Li and Mo Xiuyao is marked by suspicion, as both harbor hidden agendas. Over time, however, they gradually become allies—working together to face common enemies, dismantle political intrigues, and strive to restore peace and stability to the empire.
The drama combines romance, vengeance, and power struggles within an ancient royal setting, highlighting a strong female lead and the complex dynamics between Ye Li and Mo Xiuyao.
