LayarHijau – The costume drama Love and Crown (鳳凰台上), starring Ren Jialun and Peng Xiaoran, recently premiered on Youku and Netflix. In one of the latest episodes, during a tender moment when the two leads lean in close, sharp-eyed viewers noticed something unusual in Peng Xiaoran’s left eye: her contact lens had slipped to the side.
The moment was actually a close-up shot meant to highlight Peng Xiaoran’s beauty, but viewers were immediately distracted by what looked like a foreign object in her eye. Despite the unexpected slip, her performance remained completely steady. Her emotional gaze didn’t falter for a second, prompting fans to praise her professionalism, with many saying, “Her acting is seriously impressive!”

Peng Xiaoran later reacted to the small incident on Weibo, jokingly writing, “As long as the director doesn’t call cut, I’ll just keep acting.”
Love and Crown is adapted from Xie Lounan’s novel My Empress. The drama follows Emperor Xiao Huan, who disguises himself and travels through the martial world. During his journey, he meets Ling Cangcang, the leader of Fenglai Pavilion. Drawn together by mutual respect and shared ideals, the two team up to fight injustice, protect the innocent, and discover their own purpose along the way.
