LayarHijau – Weibo lit up after Cha Eunwoo’s younger brother, Lee Donghwi, resurfaced in a newly uploaded video from a major tech conference. His striking resemblance to Eunwoo instantly caught the attention of Chinese netizens — but what truly surprised the public was his profession: he is now involved in AI (Artificial Intelligence), a system he originally developed to help his brother navigate the pressures of celebrity life.
The Lee family has long been known as a “genetic jackpot.” Cha Eunwoo — born Lee Dongmin — is widely regarded as one of the standout visuals in the Korean entertainment industry. He was accepted into Sungkyunkwan University through a special admissions track and was later reported to have pursued graduate studies. His younger brother, Lee Donghwi, is equally impressive, having studied at Fudan University, one of China’s top institutions.
Donghwi first drew attention years ago when he briefly appeared on a variety show during Eunwoo’s military service. Despite only appearing for a split second, the resemblance was enough to send viewers into a frenzy.
Interest in him spiked again after Sebasi Talk uploaded a video of his presentation at the AI Summit Seoul & Expo 2025, held at COEX. During the event, Donghwi explained that his journey into AI was inspired by observing the world his brother lives in as a public figure.

“Because I’ve lived so closely to the life of a celebrity, I became aware of what they think about and what worries them. They’re always trying to find better ways to communicate with their fans,” he shared in an interview. “It’s not just artists — entertainment companies and brands care deeply about data. That made me wonder whether we could build a system to gather and process all of it.”
His presentation, titled AI Recipe: The AI I Developed for My Brother, Now Evolving Into a Brand Verification Tool, highlighted how witnessing the emotional toll of negative comments pushed him to create something protective.
“I’ve seen many public figures suffer because of overwhelming malicious comments. Constructive criticism is necessary, but the sheer number of media platforms makes negativity spiral,” he said. “This is the era of personal media and influencers. We’re building a system to safeguard those constantly exposed to such environments.”
Before entering the AI field, Donghwi actually came from a different background. After completing his media studies at Fudan University, he returned to Korea and worked at an advertising agency. That experience shaped his understanding of communication, consumer behavior, data analysis, and how brands interpret public sentiment. When he later joined Unbound Lab — a company focused on AI research and development — his media and advertising background became the foundation for creating AI tools that are not only technical but also sensitive to fandom dynamics, public reputation, and brand sentiment analysis.
His confident presence on stage, combined with visuals as striking as his brother’s, immediately sent him trending on Weibo. Many users praised the Lee family for “not only winning the looks lottery, but also the brains.”
