LayarHijau – Bao Shang’en’s studio has responded to the controversy surrounding a driver allegedly withholding and attempting to sell the actor’s personal belongings. In an official statement released on October 31, 2025, the studio emphasized that all items involved were privately owned and used long-term, stating there was “absolutely no act of discarding or mishandling gifts from fans.” The studio also stressed that “throughout the handling process, the team never bullied, pressured, or threatened the driver,” and confirmed it would pursue legal action against anyone spreading malicious rumors.

Earlier, Bao Shang’en’s team explained that during a location move, some personal items that had not yet been packed—including intimate clothing such as underwear and socks, filming equipment, and treasured gifts from fans—were withheld by the driver and posted on social media for display or sale. The driver in question has submitted a handwritten apology, returned the withheld items, and compensated for any losses. The team confirmed that the individual will never be employed again.

Timeline and Clarification

After Bao Shang’en and the team moved from Weihai to Harbin, they learned that some personal belongings had been recorded by a commercial vehicle driver in Weihai and uploaded online. Reports indicated the driver attempted to contact fans with the intent to sell Bao Shang’en’s personal items. At that time, many items had yet to be packed. Upon learning this, the team immediately contacted the driver and conducted an investigation. The driver admitted to withholding, handling, and intending to sell the personal belongings without authorization, with no interference or “blame-shifting” from the team.

Items involved, such as a waist cushion, were always carried by Bao Shang’en during filming, which can be verified through numerous past photos. Other items, including tissue boxes, plush keychains, beauty products, headbands, masks, clothing, and socks, were privately purchased and used long-term, not “discarded trash.” The team also emphasized that they do not accept expensive gifts from fans; typically, they only receive letters or small sentimental items, such as keychains or handmade crafts, and never discard fan gifts.

The driver showed remorse, submitted a handwritten apology, and returned the withheld items. The team deemed police involvement unnecessary, as the apology was accepted following proper communication. The return and verification process is ongoing. The team stressed that at no point did they intimidate, pressure, or threaten the driver.

The studio also acknowledged the negative emotions experienced by some fans and netizens, asking everyone to remain calm and assess the facts carefully. They expressed gratitude to fans who continue to trust and support Bao Shang’en.

The team admitted that the root cause of the incident was due to a lapse in luggage management and coordination, which was their full responsibility. All criticism has been received with humility, and they pledged to work with greater professionalism and care in the future.

Finally, the studio warned that anyone spreading false information, defaming the actor, or violating his legal rights will face legal consequences.
