Zhang Linghe’s popularity is soaring once again thanks to the romantic drama Love You. After co-starring in My Journey to You with Esther Yu and Story of Kunning Palace with Bai Lu, the rising actor is now filming a Republican-era romance titled Overdo alongside Wang Churan, best known for her role in Joy of Life.

Overdo is adapted from the novel If I Hadn’t Met You This Second by Chinese writer Fei Wo Si Cun. Set in early 20th-century Shanghai, the story follows Ren Susu (Wang Churan), an orphan who once saved Murong Qingyi (Zhang Linghe), a struggling young man. Eight years later, as she investigates the truth behind her parents’ death, she deliberately approaches Murong and pretends to become his lover. After discovering his true identity, she fakes her death and disappears. Three years later, she returns as the fiancée of Murong’s cousin. Love and vengeance intertwine, rekindling passion yet pushing them apart due to unresolved hatred.

In addition to the complex storyline, the drama’s visuals are winning praise. With their striking appearances and 18 cm height difference, Zhang Linghe and Wang Churan are dubbed the “god-level visuals couple.” Netizens commented, “What pure BG vibes!” and “This couple must not flop!”

Wang Churan’s first cheongsam look in the drama also made waves. Wearing a soft yellow qipao with purple floral patterns, her elegant figure and 172 cm height added to her charm, earning her fresh praise for her stunning presence.
