LayarHijau.com – Two years ago, comedy king Stephen Chow announced plans to create a female version of Shaolin Soccer, tentatively titled Women’s Soccer. Rumors initially claimed that popular 90s-born actress Dilraba Dilmurat would only appear in a cameo role. However, some netizens refused to believe that and insisted, “She should be the lead actress,” sparking widespread speculation. Recently, some fans discovered that Dilraba has been involved in the filming from start to finish, seemingly confirming the theory that “she is indeed the female lead.”

Since the announcement of Women’s Soccer, many actresses have reportedly expressed interest in joining the project, hoping to become the next-generation “Star Girl”. Although the production team has never officially confirmed whether Dilraba is a guest star or the main heroine, her fans have been vocal in their hope that she will reclaim her position as a leading lady. That said, they also urge others to “listen to rumors, but don’t believe them,” and to wait for an official announcement.
According to World Journal, actress Zhang Xiaofei—initially believed to be the female lead—was recently spotted in Qingdao, Shandong. Many previously assumed that filming wrapped up in just two months, but it turns out that only Zhang Xiaofei’s personal scenes had concluded. Reports now indicate that filming is still ongoing in a large stadium in Shenzhen, Guangdong, with massive production equipment including tents and cranes on site.
In contrast, Dilraba Dilmurat has been involved in the filming process from beginning to end, and it’s reported that she will wrap up her scenes with the crew on June 6. Additionally, Stephen Chow’s long-time collaborator Tin Kai-man stated in an earlier interview that Dilraba’s role in the movie is quite crucial, further fueling the belief that her part is highly significant.
Despite this, unofficial cast rankings on platforms like Douban place Dilraba third, after Zhang Xiaofei and Lay Zhang Yixing. It’s speculated that she might portray a key player or a significant supporting character. There are also claims that she might appear as a “special guest star” with an important role but not the main lead. For now, fans will have to wait for an official confirmation to know the truth.
